When British left India, they also left a great legacy in the form of automotive production. Though at that point of time India was not considered even a player in global market of automobiles, the country had people who owned motor vehicles. And, today after more than sixty years of Indian independence India is considered seventh largest automobile industry in the world. Moreover, India is just fourth largest exporter of automobile products only after Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
